Program description

The Health Services Executive program provides career opportunities to manage and lead organizations within the long-term care industry including nursing homes, residential care, assisted living, and home and community-based services. The program provides the knowledge and skills required to obtain licensing as a Health Services Executive, which many states have recognized as the standard for long-term care administrators. The program has been approved by the Minnesota Board of Executives for Long Term Services and Supports allowing graduates to be eligible to become licensed as a Health Services Executive.

Program outcomes:
- Explain the roles and responsibilities of the clinical, support, and consulting staff within senior services and supports organizations
- Demonstrate the application of knowledge and skills essential for the successful operation of senior services and supports organizations within the domains of customer care, supports, and service; operations; environment and quality; and leadership and strategy
- Demonstrate essential and collaborative skills while creating strategies to improve operations in senior services and supports environment
- Demonstrate social responsibility during experiential learning activities that reflect cultural competence for diverse population groups
- Demonstrate a mastery of the concepts related to the successful operation of a senior services and supports organization
