Course description

This course explores how value-added agriculture can increase farm and agribusiness success. Students will learn how sustainability connects with value-added practices, discover different types of agricultural and renewable energy enterprises, and apply basic business and economic principles. The course also covers how both financial and non-financial factors can increase the value of existing agribusinesses. Students will develop a detailed project outlining the startup or operation of a value-added agribusiness, including planning, marketing, finances, and regulations.
